Case in select statement of pl/sql

Syntax:
=======
      select case “column_name”
          When ‘condition’ then ‘result’
          When ‘condition1’ then ‘result1’
          When ‘condition2’ then ‘result2’
          ELSE ‘result3’ — For Default
          END,column_name1,column_name2
     From
        table_name

Example:
=======
      select case status
          When 1 then ‘Pending’
          When 2 then ‘Sumitted’
          When 3 then ‘Confirmed’
          ELSE ‘Invalid’
          END,emp_name,emp_no
     From
        employee;
